Citing actions of the 74th and 75th General Conventions, the standing committee of the Diocese of Central Florida on June 29 issued an appeal for alternative primatial oversight. The standing committees of the dioceses of Fort Worth, Pittsburgh, San Joaquin and South Carolina have made similar requests, none of which is as yet ratified by a diocesan convention.
"We hereby appeal to the Archbishop of Canterbury, the panel of reference, and the Primates of the Anglican Communion for immediate alternative primatial oversight," the Central Florida "open letter" reads in part.
