Position:          Grants, Assistant Administrator

GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION

Under the direct supervision of the Grants & Loan Collections Administrator, the incumbent will be the person providing support for tasks associated with Federal grant management and the loan collection program.

Duties & Essential Job Functions

·         Coordinate the receipt and accounting of Federal funds.

·         Ensure disbursements according to terms of the grants.

·         Prepare fiscal reports as required.

·         Assist in the preparation of grant budgets and manage requests to re-allocate approved grant budgets when necessary

·         Assist in the administering of in-house and external compliance training.

·         Assist in the preparation of fiscal reports and accounting of travel loan collections, as well as, disbursements associated with this program.

·         Other miscellaneous tasks associated with grant compliance (i.e., review of affiliate audit reports, preparation of DFMS audit).

Essential Job Requirements:

·        A degree in business or accounting desirable.

·        High level of competence in Excel, Word and Outlook; able to merge documents for mass mailings and use pivot tables (testing required during interview process)

·        Basic understanding of accounting processes and procedures; Prior grant management experience is desirable.

·        Able to speak, write in English fluently; Good communication and listening skills.

·        Good organisational skills used in planning own work.

·        Experience working in a general office environment.

·        Good keyboard skills, office equipment operation.

·        Ability to act in a professional manner in difficult situation (especially when dealing with loans collection).

·        Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines.

·        Able to work in a busy office environment that often demands high levels of concentration, while coping with frequent interruptions.

·        Able to manage a high volume workload.

·        Good analytical ability.

·        Good problem solving ability.

Preferred Job Requirements:

It would be beneficial if the candidate were to possess a second language in one of the languages spoken by the largest groups of arriving refugees: Spanish, Arabic, etc., as these will likely be the cases we shall be contacting in future years regarding loan collections.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a generous benefits package.

This is a Non-Exempt position.
